Miranda Cordes began dancing at the age of eight at Debbie’s Dance Dimensions,before transitioning to the Beth Fowler School of Dance. She was a soloist in the Beth Fowler Dance Company for many years before becoming an instructor at the School, and eventually serving as the Assistant Artistic Director. She trained with the Joffrey Ballet in New York City at age sixteen before moving to Chicago where she studied at Ballet Chicago and the Joel Hall Dance Center. Miranda danced professionally for many years with companies throughout the Chicago and Milwaukee areas, including Elements Contemporary Ballet, Joel Hall II, Lavender Cabaret, Pastiche Dance Ensemble and the Mathis Locket Dance Company . She moved back to DeKalb in 2007 to attend NIU’s Performing Arts program on scholarship. Miranda lives in DeKalb with her husband and their three children and continues to train, perform, teach and inspire others.
